Yes, I Can

"Yes, I Can" is a wonderful affirmation.  This affirmation will program the mind for success in all areas of one's life.

I have been very surprised by the difficulties many clients have with making success generating affirmations.

Mental Fitness Programming Applied to Overcome Anxiety about Surgery

The Turn Around Choice of the North Star Medal Fitness Program has been designed to reduce anxiety, panic and fear

In fact, this Choice can be used to reduce and manage all self-defeating behavior.  Yesterday, I taught a client how to apply the Turn Around Choice to reduce anxiety and fear about flying in an airplane.

At first he was skeptical.  Then he went through a stage of disbelief as he never thought of this approach to reduce his fear of flying.  As he began to understand how he could reduce and manage his fear of flying, he relaxed.  He felt confident.  He exclaimed that the general public should know about this procedure.

We talked about how this procedure could be applied to solve so many problems like addictions, other fears and problems with poor impulse control.

As we talked, I began to feel rather foolish.  I had completely forgotten to apply the choice in my own life!

You see, later this morning I will have shoulder surgery.  I had completely forgotten to master my anxiety, fears and indecision regarding the surgery with the Turn Around Choice.  I admitted my oversight to my client.

Immediately, I applied the Turn Around Choice to relax me regarding my surgery.  It worked.  Yesterday and today I have an inner calmness about the surgery.  I also know that I can use the Turn Around Choice, if my fear or panic return.

I also emphasized for my client one more fact.  Even though a person knows the secrets of mental fitness, mental fitness relief will not be experienced unless the Turn Around Choice is consciously made.

Is Your Passion Real?

"Why don't I do when I know I should"?

This was a question asked by one of my very astute clients.  She has been struggling with learning how to take care of herself when she anticipates or experiences criticisms from others.

I'm quite sure that there are many answers to this question.  My client knows she must be performing her mental exercises to become stronger than her problems and strong enough to overcome criticism from others.  Yet, she finds herself unable to maintain focused thinking about her self.  It is so foreign and so hard for her to focus on "caring for herself".

When I listened to University of Michigan Football Coach, Rich Rodriquez, he talked about part of the solution.  Coach Rodriquez put it this way about his team:

Reminiscing about Mental Fitness

He was reminiscing about what he had learned in 35 years of being a manager in an auto factory.  Also he has been married more than 35 years, has two grown children and two grandchildren.  During his life he has wrestled with anxiety and panic.

In spite of his anxiety and panic, he was able to identify that he has "inner strength".  Adjusting and coping with problems on an everyday basis has made him a much stronger person.

He has learned how to successfully take care of himself, which is the object of mental fitness and mental health.  He reported that he has learned two very important things about taking care of himself.  He has learned that:

I Empowered Myself!

Self-doubt and lacking confidence are often experienced by people, who reenter the world of employment after an illness or raising their children.

Such was the mindset of this middle-aged women. She has raised her children.  Now, she has been successful in her job, but her perceptions of herself have lagged behind her accomplishments.  She struggled with accepting her success and the benefits of her success.

She thought she didn't deserve good things.  She felt she didn't deserve the accolades and consequences from being successful.

She realized that there was a golden ring in front of her.  She always has been ambivalent about reaching for the ring of opportunity and success. She knew it was there, but she just couldn't reach out for this ring of success.  She worried and was fearful she couldn't measure up.  So she remained in an inhibited and fearful comfort zone.

The Importance of Your Mindset

Charlie Jones has been broadcasting sports event since 1960.  He has broadcasted numerous professional sports, including broadcasting football games from the American Football League, the National Football League and various sports at the Olympics.

He, therefore, has witnessed tremendous achievements and disappointments in the world of sports.

In his book, "What Makes Winners Win," he shared one of his observations:

"The other intriguing thing I have noticed, and it happens time and time again, is that the winners always figure out a way to win, and the losers... that's right, they always figure out a way to loose is."

Do You Learn More from Failure or Success?

Have you ever wondered if you learn more from failure or success?

I ask you to consider that our mindsets can determine whether we learn more from failure or success.

If we focus more on failures in life, I imagine we would learn more from failures.  By focusing more on failures, we increase the risk of attracting more and more failures into our life.  Before long we might find ourselves living within the environment created by failure.

If we focus on learning from our successes, we can attract more and more successes into our lives.  Professional golfer, Hale Irwin, gave his outlook on life:

"I've Learn More from Victory, Because I Have Trained Myself to Concentrate on the Good and Positive"

Visualizing Success

Visualizing success opens the window of opportunity for success.  The Law of Attraction can be actualized in your life by thinking thoughts and visualizing your life as successful.

Tiger Woods, one of the most famous and successful professional golfers emphasized the importance of visualization in these words:

"Every Time I Play, In My Own Mind I Am The Favorite"!

I Am Loved

"I am loved" is a wonderful affirmation for the New Year.  What would the next year be like, if we thought about our relationships from the perspective of what is right rather than what is wrong.

I think it is human nature to become absorbed with feeling "unloved" when we experienced disappointment and failed expectations in our relationships.  We dwell on the hurt of feeling unloved and soon began to think that we are not loved.

We look for the smallest indications that confirm that we are unloved.  We hoard the feelings and memories of feeling unloved.  We analyze our relationships with eyes covered with lenses stained by feeling unloved.  We live in a world of feeling unloved.

How much better could our life be, if we could remember to think and feel "we are loved"?

I found this inspirational writing
