Change: The Politicians Don't Get It

One of the big buzzwords for the 2008 presidential election is CHANGE!  Both the Republicans and Democrats are striving to create the image that they are the party of change.  Change America is the rallying cry of modern-day political Pied Piper's.

Yes, Robert Browning's Pied Piper of Hamlet: A Child's Story is relevant to the current political campaign.  Politicians like to Pied Piper promising to rid us of the varmints in society.  Are we really willing to pay the price of following the Pied Piper's?  Are we going to lose our children and our children's legacy, because of desperation and blindly clinging to the Pied Piper's?

Let us look at the the politician's deceptions.  Barack Obama is promising to spread the wealth.  Isn't our economy currently is in the dumpster, partially because of the Democrat's past failures at spreading the wealth?

Let's be clear about this.  Our stock market and economy crashed because of the democrats attempt to spread the wealth by encouraging and supporting people getting house mortgages without a job and without down-payments.  Wasn't the failed mortgage fiasco a program of spreading the wealth and income redistribution?

Let's also be clear about this.  The Republicans policies has resulted in the few becoming extremely wealthy to the detriment of the lowering standard of living for the majority of Americans.  Wasn't the crash of Wall Street and the repercussions throughout our economy, because the Republicans were enticing the rich with favorable legislation?

From my perspective, neither candidate or party is offering change. They may verbalize some differences with the Bush administration, but are they really candidates and parties of change?  Is McCain really going to be different than President Bush?  Is Obama really going to be different than the Pelosi, Reid and Franks?

I don't think the politicians get it!  I'm not trying to be a politician.   I am just an American tired of being duped.

I get the feeling that change just means different faces with the same old beliefs and politics that created our economic and political disaster.

We need to change by looking backwards and reclaiming the ethics, values and morals that made America strong.  We need moral change.  We need spiritual change.  We need psychological change.  We need honesty.  We need honest self-disclosure.  We need to have representatives who are committed to doing their job and representing their constituency.  We need politicians who are committed to America and the populace rather than to their party, their party's agenda, their sources of payola and greed.  We need people who know right from wrong and are committed to do what is right.

Hopefully, Americans will become courageously and actively committed to restoring values, morals and ethics into our everyday living, government and business.  The failure of morals and values is destroying our country.

We Will Live within the Country Created by Our Choices!
