Have you ever felt bored in your relationships, work and personal life?
Have you lost motivation, momentum and emotional excitement in the daily routines of your life?
I read a very interesting article by Sarah Wassner Flynn from SHEKNOWS. The name of her article was GET MOTIVATED TO GET FIT.
As I read her article about how to get motivated in order to become physically fit, I realized that she also had a great idea for revitalizing our everyday living, relationships and activities.
Sarah challenged her readers to
"Maximize your motivation by focusing on achieving a greater goal than just staying slim".
I immediately thought of how this could be applied to everyday living. When we begin to lose motivation for doing the mundane things, we can revitalize our motivation by putting mundane activities into the context of a greater goal.
For example, helping your child pick up toys and clean up messes is more than a mundane activity; it is an opportunity to teach your child life skills.
Relating with your significant other regarding about an everyday happening is more than a mundane activity; it is an stepping-stone to build and achieve your dream relationship.
Doing all of the activities that are necessary for success in school is more than a mundane activity; it is seizing an opportunity to develop successful skills necessary for success.
There always will be mundane routine and activities in our lives. Thinking about the deeper meaning behind performing all of the mundane activities can motivate us to achieve both the practical and Super Goals.
Practical goals are the mundane things we do on an everyday basis like teaching a child to pick up, cooking a meal or completing an assignment.
Super goals are the more meaningful goals that put performing mundane activities into perspective. A great Super Goal Is Taking Care of Ourselves by performing the mundane activities in our everyday living.
A great Super Goal is to become the Champion in your life. You can become a Champion by focusing, appreciating, and excelling in performing the mundane activities in everyday life. Performing the mundane activities in everyday life with the goal of becoming a champion will make your motivation stronger and your life more enjoyable.
