The Power of Attentive Thinking

Tonight I talked to a woman, who impressed me with the powerfulness of her thinking.  Her thinking has completely changed her life.

What has she been thinking?

How has she been thinking?

Before I tell you about her new thinking, let me tell you a little bit about her former life.  She was lonely with diagnoses of depression and bipolar depression.  She had a history of feeling unloved by her parents and alienated from family.  Although married, she felt lonely and depressed.  Even when she left her husband to go to work, she felt alone, worthless and agitated.  She coped with the emptiness in her life by having numerous affairs and gambling.  Not surprisingly, her marriage was on course to end in divorce.

Now, she is feeling happy and content.  Her affairs have stopped.  She is accepting and understanding of her husband's disappointment and insecurity about her.  She no longer gambles.  She is losing weight.  She is actively involved in an exercise program.  She has increased energy and good feelings about herself and her life.

What what caused these changes.  These changes are directly the result of her thinking.  For years she thought she was unlovable, unimportant and disposable.  She thought her parents didn't love her.  She thought her husband didn't love her and she thought she didn't love her husband when they were apart.  She didn't care what happened to her.

Now she is thinking:

1.  My Parents Loved Me!

2.  My husband Loves Me And I Love Him!

3.  I Am Committed to Taking Care of Me!

She not only has been thinking these thoughts, she has been taking these thoughts with conviction, unbelievable attention and repetition.

In my last post, Attention Improves Memory,I wrote that meaningful attention will improve communication in a relationship.  This woman has shown changed thinking with commitment and attention can improve relationships, stop behaviors detrimental to a relationship, and increase empathy and a relationship.

No matter how long and how bad your problems have been in your life, there is hope for you.
