"Focus on one arrow at a time" was the mantra of the young archer, who at the age of 12 exploded onto the national scene as an archery phenom.
This is the third blog I have written about the young Archer's mental fitness. I wanted to know how he trained.
His "Perfect Practicing" for excellence and success involved three strategies:
1. Repetitive and perfect practicing of the form necessary for success. He emphasized practicing every detail of the processes and form necessary for the shooting an arrow accurately. Under stress and in competition his perfect form had become habitual, natural and automatic.
2. Visualizing shooting the perfect arrow. He had been taught the importance of using visualization in order to generate success. Below are two blogs on visualization for your consideration.
Aaron M. Potts has a blog site entitled Today Is That Day. He wrote an article "Self-Improvement Technology, Do Visualizations and Affirmations Really Work"? The importance of visualization is seeing in the following quotation "if you can't see it in your head, you definitely will never see it in your life"!
Rodger Constandse from KSuccess explained the importance of visualization in his article "How Sports Psychology and Visualization Can Help You Win in Life".
3. Thinking only about successful past shots. Don't think about missed shots. He learned to think only about past perfect shots. He knew the importance of thinking and planting memories of success into his mind rather than failures and disappointments. He had mastered the mindset to focus on successes rather than failures.
The young archer was applying The Law of Attraction. Levrow Self-Help Fitness Blog presented Applying the Law of Attraction In Your Life A Step by Step Guide.
Steve of Steve Pavlina.com and defined the Law of Attraction as "The Law of Attraction simply says that you attract into your life whatever you think about".
The archer's three strategies will work for you for turning disappointments in your life into success and happiness.

My two previous blogs on the archer are Perfect Practice Makes Perfection and Four Arrows for Success. Although he was only 12 years old at the time, he had learned and understood the importance of mental fitness for success.

Great post with solid content!
