Coaching for Momentum

Coach momentum to overcome adversities. Have you ever lost momentum, because of disappointments, self-doubt, unexpected circumstances or defeat?

Has your team lost momentum following a good play by the other side or a bad play by your team?

Loss of momentum is a normal reaction when things go wrong.  Maintaining momentum when things go wrong is the result of good coaching and mental fitness. How can loss of momentum be turned into success?

Coach Realistic Expectations:  Maintaining momentum is the result of realistic expectations and preparation.  Expect things to go wrong in your life.  Expect that you will feel disappointed, inadequate, unappreciated, and defeated in a game or more important in the unfolding of your life.

Coach Realistic and Emotional  Acceptance:  It is necessary for maintaining momentum, to accept temporary setbacks and realistic obstacles in the pursuit of your goal.  It is also necessary to to accept the "bottoming our of your self concept" and defeated emotions in order to maintain momentum.

Acceptance does not mean being over-whelmed or giving in to bad circumstances, defeated thinking or emotional agony. Acceptance means welcoming and feeling relaxed with the knowledge that bad circumstance and feeling defeated are necessary for success.  Successful people accept and overcome bad circumstances and temporary loss of confidence.

Coach Detachment:  With realistic expectations and acceptances regarding bad circumstances and emotional confidence, it is possible to detach.  Detachment from the loss emotional intensity and loss of confidence caused by a change in circumstances is necessary to maintain momentum.  You can learn to detach from what happens outside of you, while focusing on what you have inside of you.

Coach Adherence to Your Game Plan: It does not matter whether you are winning or losing. It does not matter if you have made a very bad play or the opposition has made a very good play.  The purpose of the game plan is to first detach from the loss of passion and confidence generated by a change in circumstances.

Secondly, the purpose of the game plan is to have strategies for success for coping with all kind of unfavorable circumstances.

Thirdly, the purpose of the game plan is to condition and experience emotional passion, confidence, and the expectation of success with the strategies for success.

Maintain successful momentum is not an accident.  Maintaining momentum is the result of good coaching and good mental fitness.

Remember, You Live in the Environment Created by Your Choices!
